Resources
Maui Strong
For anyone interested in supporting those affected by the Maui fires, below is a list of needs as well as offerings.
NEEDS:
NEEDS:
- The 24/7 ‘Support For Those Who Are Helping’ virtual meeting room on Zoom. You can sign up here for shifts. There are 3 slots per shift but no maximum. You do not have to be licensed or in Hawaii. The intention of this space is modeled after mutual support - providing the space, and relying on peers/colleagues to be available to each other for whatever is needed. This is not a therapy group. It is open to ALL helpers (mental health providers, first responders, volunteers, all of you!). It's just a safe space to connect as needed. More details soon but please sign up so we can roll it out. THE NEED IS THERE.
- Google Group (please request to join; Make sure your email is on distribution list and have access to resources that will be shared on drive; distribute widely)
- Volunteer Form (for anyone wanting to help; no need to be licensed or in state; distribute widely)
- Donations to organizations providing services
- Sign up for shelter shifts on Maui (Active HI license and Psychological First Aid (PFA) training required; in person services only). Please read the full details on the sheet before signing up for a half shift or full shift.
- First Touch / Advocates to help Maui Rapid Response connect with people requesting help. Text/call individuals and families, update online database, refer to services. Training provided via zoom. Sign up in our Call for Help. We will contact all volunteers indicating First Touch interest. Some training in PFA or disaster response helpful. Options for licensed (in any state) higher needs requests and unlicensed (student, layperson) referrals.
