Division 35 Section V Jean Lau Chin Early Career Professional Award 2024
Section V of Division 35 invites nominations for the 2024 Jean Lau Chin ECP Award for Early Career Professionals (ECPs) to honor Dr. Jean Lau Chin’s legacy of advocacy and support of ECPs in attending the APA convention to network within the profession and develop a sense of community. All ECPs (within 10 years of their degree) who are members of Section V are eligible to apply for the travel award. Description The Division 35 Section V Jean Lau Chin Early Career Professional Award recognizes Asian Pacific American feminists for their contributions to a) leadership, b) academic scholarship, and, c) community practice. Three awards will be presented to early career professionals in each of the above named areas. At the APA convention, the recipients of the Jean Lau Chin ECP Awards will receive a $250 travel honorarium and will also be presented with a certificate of appreciation for their contributions to the mission and development of Section V. Eligibility For the 2024 Jean Lau Chin Early Career Professional Award, the applicant must: - Be an ECP within 10 years of their degree - Be current members of APA Division 35 and Section V Requirements To nominate an individual for the award, please send:

Division 35 Section V Distinguished Mentor Award 2024
Section V of Division 35 invites nominations for the 2024 Distinguished Mentor Award. The recipient of the Distinguished Mentor Award will have the opportunity to connect with the Division 35 Section V Pioneer Award recipient and Distinguished Student Award recipient and the presidential trio of the section over a lunch during the 2024 APA convention. Please forward this announcement to others. Description The Distinguished Mentor Award will be presented at the 2024 APA annual convention. Division 35 Section V Distinguished Mentor Award is an award to recognize an Asian Pacific American feminist who embraces the mission of Division 35 and Division 35 Section V in their professional identity and work. Areas of professional focus for this award highlight mentorship within areas including but not limited to community engagement, leadership, clinical work, and research. The recipient will receive a $250 honorarium for this award and will attend a mentorship lunch with Section V Distinguished Award recipients and the current presidential trio of the section at the 2024 APA Convention. Eligibility For the 2024 Distinguished Mentor Award, the applicant must be: - Current mentor in the Section V Mentoring Program - Current members of APA Division 35 and Section V Requirements A one-page statement articulating the applicant’s contribution to API feminist psychology, including the applicant’s contributions to mentorship within Section V and Division 35.

Section V of Division 35 invites nominations for the 2024 Pioneer Award. In addition to the award honorarium, the recipient of the Pioneer Award will have the opportunity to connect with current and past award recipients over a lunch at the 2024 APA convention. Description The Pioneer award will be presented at the 2024 APA annual convention. Division 35 Section V Pioneer Award is an award to recognize an Asian Pacific feminist who has significantly contributed to the mission and growth of Section V. Areas of professional focus for this award are broadly defined, which include but are not limited to community engagement, leadership, clinical work, research, and mentoring. At the 2024 APA convention, the recipient of this award will receive a $250 honorarium, as well as have lunch with the Section V President, 2024 Section V Mentor and Student Pioneer awardees, and past award recipients. The Section V Pioneer Award recipient will also be presented with a certificate of appreciation for their contributions to the mission and development of Section V. Eligibility Nominations, including self-nominations, are welcome. All nominees should be a current member of Division 35 and Section V. Requirements To nominate an individual for the award, please send: 1. A nomination letter that describes the nominee’s contribution as a feminist psychologist as well as the benefits for her to be connected to a distinguished Asian Pacific feminist mentor. 2. The nominee’s curriculum vitae and email address. 3. At least one letter of support from a colleague who is familiar with the nominee’s work.

Section V of Division 35 invites nominations for the 2024 Student Pioneer Award. In addition to the award honorarium, the recipient of the Student Pioneer Award will have the opportunity to connect with the Division 35 Section V Distinguished Mentor Award recipient, the Division 35 Section 5 Pioneer Award recipient and the presidential trio of the section over a lunch during the 2024 APA convention. Description The Student Pioneer Award will be presented at the 2024 APA annual convention. Division 35 Section V Student Pioneer Award is an award to recognize an Asian Pacific American feminist who embraces the mission of Division 35 and Division 35 Section V in their professional identity and work. Areas of professional focus for this award are broadly defined, including but not limited to community engagement, leadership, clinical work, research, and mentoring. At the 2024 APA convention, the recipient of this award will attend a mentorship lunch with Section V Distinguished Award recipients and mentors and the current presidential trio of the section. The award includes a $250 honorarium. The award winner will also submit an article about a related topic to Section V’s annual newsletter. Eligibility Nominations, including self-nominations, are welcome. For the 2024 Student Pioneer Award, the applicant must: - Be currently enrolled in a graduate academic program. - Be current members of APA Division 35 and Section V Requirements A one-page statement articulating the applicant’s contribution to API feminist psychology, including the applicant’s reflection on having an API mentor and on their current and/or future contributions to Section V and Division 35. A letter of support/recommendation from a faculty member who is familiar with the applicant’s work. The applicant needs a curriculum vitae.
